Early life brought with it some surprises for this singer
Born Jerome Benjamin Alexander Burgess
Born the son of a couple from Nassau, Bahamas. James and Barbara Burgess gave Jerome Robinson (then named Jerome Benjamin Alexander Burgess) up for adoption at the age of two. He was taken in by a wonderful woman named Ruby Robinson. He had been told all of his life that his natural family had passed away. Twenty-eight years later, Jerome received a phone call from a man who said he was his natural father. Jerome learned of a family he had never seen and of a father that wished to share his love ... Jerome said, "After I wiped the tears from my eyes there was nothing left for me to say." Jerome met his father. It was very emotional. Unfortunately, two years after meeting, Jerome's father passed away.
This led to the recording of the song "I Never Sang for My Father," (Jerome was known and performing at this time under the name of Alexander Love. Click here to learn more about the 1979 recorded CD titled "Pieces of Love".

Jerome Robinson found his niche performing not only the Platters but a wide venue of "Old School" songs.
